Our mission

The Youth Empowerment Through Education (YETE) program aims to tackle the persistent challenge of limited access to quality career education, mentorship, and meaningful community engagement faced by underserved youth in Green Bay. Many young people in these communities encounter barriers such as lack of resources, insufficient exposure to viable career paths, and limited support networks, which can lead to disengagement from school, low skill development, and reduced employment opportunities.

YETE focuses on bridging these gaps by providing accessible, hands-on training in diverse career fields, integrating community service to build civic responsibility, and fostering mentorship relationships that offer guidance and encouragement. By addressing these critical needs, YETE helps youth overcome obstacles that might otherwise limit their future success, empowering them to build skills, confidence, and connections essential for academic achievement, workforce readiness, and personal growth.

Empowering green bay's youth

The Youth Empowerment Through Education (YETE) program stands out by providing a comprehensive, career-focused pathway for underserved youth ages 10–17. Unlike programs that primarily offer short-term workshops or mentoring, YETE combines sustained, hands-on career training with community service and structured mentorship over a multi-week period.

In essence, YETE is a holistic, career-launching program that goes beyond traditional youth activities by blending education, service, and mentorship into a cohesive, empowering experience designed to prepare Green Bay’s youth for success in school, work, and life.

Expected outcomes

Through participation in YETE, young people are expected to experience measurable growth in several key areas that pave the way for their future success:

  • Enhanced Career Skills and Knowledge: Youth gain practical, hands-on experience in their chosen career tracks, equipping them with marketable skills and industry awareness that improve their employability and readiness for further education or apprenticeships.
  • Improved Academic Engagement: By earning student credit and connecting learning to real-world applications, participants become more motivated to stay in school and achieve academic milestones.
  • Increased Confidence and Leadership: Regular mentorship and collaborative projects build self-esteem, communication abilities, and leadership qualities, empowering youth to take initiative and navigate challenges.
  • Strengthened Community Connection: Active involvement in meaningful community service fosters a sense of responsibility, empathy, and belonging, encouraging youth to contribute positively to their neighborhoods.
  • Expanded Professional Networks: Relationships formed with mentors and partner organizations open doors to internships, job placements, and continued support beyond the program.
  • Greater Resilience and Life Skills: Through guidance and experience, youth develop problem-solving skills, time management, and adaptability essential for personal and professional growth.

Ultimately, YETE aims to help each participant transition from a place of limited opportunity to one of possibility—equipped with the tools, mindset, and connections to build fulfilling careers and lives.

Our ultimate goal

To empower underserved youth with the skills, confidence, and support networks necessary to successfully transition into meaningful education, career opportunities, and community leadership, thereby breaking cycles of disadvantage and opening pathways to long-term personal and professional success.

This single goal embodies YETE’s commitment to transforming lives by providing a comprehensive foundation that sets young people on a path toward a brighter future.
